WHAT IS TRANSISTOR??
transistor is semiconductor device. which is used in electrical and electronics devices. Word transistor is mixture of two words trans mean transfer, istor means resistance provide by the junction. Transistor offers function like amplification, switching
TYPES OF TRANSISTOR
- BJT (bipolar junction transistor)
- FET (field effect transistor)
BJT Transistor
BJT is the abbreviation of bi-polar junction transistor. This device has three terminals like emitter, base and collector. transistor is the combination of two diode. base is very thin in the center of emitter and collector. The upper side of base is collector and lower side is called emitter. electrons flow from the collector to emitter and base is control the flow of electron.
TYPES OF BJT (bi-polar junction transistor)
· NPN
· PNP
NPN(Negative-positive-Negative)
NPN is the abbreviation of negative positive negative. Block diagram is shown in the fig you can see the P is doped between the two N type material. It has three terminals like collector, base and emitter. The connection of NPN transistor is base and emitter is always connected forward biase and base and collector is reversed biased.
PNP(Positive-negative-Positive)
PNP is the abbreviation of the positive-negative-positive. It has also three terminals like NPN respectly collector, base and emitter. N is doped between the two P type materials the connection of this transistor like NPN the difference is base is connected to negative, emitter is positive and collector is negative
